SPRINGDALE — Darrel G. James, 72, of Springdale died June 16, 2008, at his home with his family by his side. He was born June 24, 1935, in Stidham, Okla., to Earl Nye and Mary Ellen Fine James.

He moved to the Northwest Arkansas area in 1967 and went to work as shop foreman at Arkansas White trailer shop. In 1969, Arkansas White moved to its present location and changed the name to Northwest Arkansas Truck and Equipment Inc., where he became trailer shop service manager, moved on to general manager and vice president and then president at which time he became the majority stockholder of the employee owned business. He was a member of Sonora Baptist Church and enjoyed working at his farm and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann "Patsy" Smith James and a grandson, four brothers and a sister.

He is survived by two sons, Larry James and wife Kim of Hindsville and Scott James and wife Ann of Springdale; two brothers, Clifford James of Eufaula, Okla., and Gerald James of Bakersfield, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Sonora Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Burial will be in Joyce Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sisco Chapel in Springdale, online at www.siscofuneral.com. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Gary Howard, Donald Lee James, Shawn Smith, Ron Smith, Wendall Wolf, Dwight McCoy, Donnie Barton and Jery Ingram.

SPRINGDALE — Patricia Ann "Patsy" James, 72, of Springdale died Jan. 12, 2008, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born April 18, 1935, in Mount Judea to Foy and Wilda Kent Smith.

She was a homemaker and a member of Washington County Extension Homemakers Council for 40 years. She joined the Growing 59ers Club in the late '60s and served as club president twice. She served as county council president in 2001 and 2002. She was a quilter, gardener and enjoyed canning. She taught many county workshops and classes at EHC state meetings. She judged quilting and canning at many county and district fairs. She was former co-chairman of the quilt division at the Washington County Fair for several years.

Survivors include her husband, Darrel James of the home, to whom she was married Nov. 4, 1955; two sons, Larry James and wife Kim of Hindsville and Scott James and wife Ann of Springdale; one brother, Ronnie Smith and wife Anita of Huntsville; one sister, Ruth Hefley of Alpena; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sonora Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Burial will be in Joyce Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sisco Chapel in Springdale. The family will be present from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Ron Smith, Shawn Smith, Todd Saylors, Jeff Netherton, Jerry Kent and Jerry Ingram.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Acuff, Josh Saylors, Ryan Cochran, Bobby Morgan and Kiowa Whitcomb and Thomas Anderson.
