Grace Taylor Barlow, passed away April 14, 2011, at a local nursing home.
She was born in Cecil, Arkansas, to Aubrey and Minnie Lee McGee Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Hudson Barlow, son Charles Aubrey Barlow, and nine siblings.
Ms. Barlow graduated, from Charleston, Arkansas High School and the University of Arkansas. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma teachers' sorority. She retired in 1995, after teaching 54 years, primarily in the Van Buren Public School System. She taught senior English classes and served as chair of the English department, at van Buren High School. The high school scholastic library was dedicated, in her honor, and she was inducted into the Van Buren High School Hall of Honor, in 2003. Additionally, she served many years as class sponsor and senior class play sponsor. She assisted the state, by serving, on numerous North Central Accreditation Evaluation committees. She was a long time member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, in Fort Smith.
She is survived her son, Curtis Barlow and wife Cecelia, of La Quinta, California; Granddaughter and husband, Alicia and Don Grantham, of New Albany, Ohio, grandson and wife, Christopher and Joanne Barlow, of Indio, California, and two great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Meehan Barlow, of Charleston, West Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 1 pm, on Monday, April 18th, 2011, at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, with The Reverend Jeffrey Champlin officiating.
Interment was at Lowes Creek Cemetery, near Charleston, under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
