Lois Burton, 91, of Branch died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a member of Oak Bend Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of Glen D. Burton. Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Smith Mortuary in Charleston with burial at Lowes Creek Cemetery north of Branch. She is survived by two daughters, Velma Mealer of Arkoma and Carolyn Hurt of Charleston; a son, Boyd Ray Burton of Charleston; a sister, Lillian Mayfield of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David and Oscar Burton, Mike Mealer, Kenton and Keith Hurt, Nick Bartmier, Donny Hall and Ferrell Freeman. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
