Raymond Padgett born in Lee County, Ark. to Mrs. Emmer Watts Padgett and Mr. George W. Padgett. He had lived in the Forrest City area all his life. He was a construction worker and a commercial fisherman and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion and a Baptist. He married Miss Mary Frances Felton in 1953. She survives him along with one son, Raymond M. Padgett of Forrest City; three daughters, Mrs. Ann Berry and Miss Debora Padgett of Forrest City, and Mrs. Sue Hillis of Peru, Indiana; his mother, Mrs. Emmer Padgett of Forrest City; two brothers, Lewis of Forrest City and Wilburn of Holly Grove; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Leslie of Helena, Mrs. Julia Walls of Memphis, Mrs. Geneva Casey and Mrs. Carolyn Mitchusson of Forrest City. Funerals services held by Rev. Floyd Cowan at Stevens Funeral home, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.
