ROGERS — Gene Pool of Rogers died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Aug. 30, 1927, at Rogers to Hugh Clayton Pool and Irene Wood Pool.
He worked as a supervisor with Ralston Purina for 15 years and as an inventory auditor with Emerson Electric for 26 years before retiring in 1991. He was a WWII Army veteran stationed in Munich, Germany. He served as an M.P. medical tech and was honorably discharged with the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal on Feb. 26, 1947. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rogers.
He married Ruth Lorene Best on April 23, 1949, who precedes him in death on July 14, 2011; his parents and a brother, Parnell Pool also precede.
He is survived by a daughter, Judy Lynn Pool Epps of Rogers; a sister, Leola Baker of Springdale; three granddaughters, Ronna McAllister and husband, Jeremy, of Pea Ridge, Genena Carr and husband, Stephen, of Garfield, Amanda Sheppard and Joshua Lakin of Rogers; and 11 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Maggie and Clinton McAllister, Austin, Heather, Jessica and Tyler Carr, Samuel, Larry and Shelby Sheppard and Haven Lakin.
Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with Pastor David Bentley officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakley Chapel in Rogers. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.

ROGERS — Ruth Lorene Pool, 83, of Rogers died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Concordia Nursing and Rehab in Bella Vista. She was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Rogers, to Julius Robert Best and Maggie Victoria Hendrix Best.
She worked in office and clerical for over 30 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rogers, and is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors are her husband, Gene Pool of Rogers, whom she married April 23, 1949; one daughter, Judy Epps of Rogers; two sisters, Betty Cunningham and husband Bill and Connie Best, all of Rogers; three granddaughters, Ronna McAllister and husband Jeremy of Pea Ridge, Genena Carr and husband Stephen of Garfield, and Amanda Sheppard of Rogers; 10 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Maggie and Clinton McAllister, Austin, Heather, Jessica and Tyler Carr, and Samuel, Larry and Shelby Sheppard.
Funeral is set for Monday, July 18, 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Burial will be at Oakley Chapel Cemetery in Rogers.
Visitation is set for Sunday, July 17, 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
