HIGDON, Pearl - On the 5th of July, 1905 the death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Higdon, two and one half miles east of Rogers, and stole away their beloved daughter, Miss Pearl. This dispensation of Providence is a source of great bereavement, not only to the family who loved her so dearly but to the whole community. She had every attention her physicians could give, in addition to the loving hands and careful attention of those who attended her during her illness and watched with so much anxiety to see her restored to health. Miss Pearl was born February 23, 1885 and came to Rogers with her parents from Scotland county, Missouri in 1887. The funeral sermon was delivered Friday morning at 11 o'clock by Rev. Jordan, pastor of the Baptist church, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Rogers cemetery.
