A tragic accident took the life of a six year old girl, Julia Catherine "Cathy" Rose, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Rose of 1553 Skyline Drive. Cathy was drowned Saturday afternoon when she fell through the ice on a pond near her home. Services were conducted by the Rev. Lamar Lifer and the Rev. Jerry Millikin, Monday at Emmanuel Baptist church. Burial was in Forrest Park cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge. Cathy was born in Memphis on Sep.5,1959, the daughter of Jewel Rackley and John C. Rose. She was a first grade student and attended Emmanuel Baptist church. In addition to her parents, she leaves brothers, John C. Jr., Billy, Rickey and a sister, Alice, all of Forrest City; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Beatrice Rackley of Ft. Smith.
