Mr. David Walter Davies, Jr., age 79, of Leawood, Kan., died on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000. Mr. Davies was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Higbee, Mo. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia and was retired from the Carter-Waters Corporation, after 19 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian H. Davies. He is survived by one son, David W. Davies III of Leawood; one daughter, Ann Delair of Overland Park, Kan.; a niece Jan Haven of Forrest City; and two grandsons. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home in Kansas City. There will be a graveside service held at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City, on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m., under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
