Mrs. Velma Faye Kelley, age 74, of Forrest City, died Saturday at the Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City. Her death came suddenly and unexpectedly.
Mrs. Kelley was born February 5, 1937, in Paragould, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Arthur Lee Mahan and Jewel Elizabeth Branscum Mahan. She lived in St. Francis County most all of her life, was a housewife, and was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Kelley married Calvin C. Kelley in 1953, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by one daughter, Carla K. Astin of Forrest City, four sons; Ricky Kelley of Dexter, Missouri, Bill Kelley of Forrest City, Joe Kelley of Southaven, Mississippi, and Matt Kelley of Wynne, one brother, Jarrel Mahan of Oxford, Arkansas, two sisters; Joyce Frazey of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and Jean Reeves of Caraway, Arkansas, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She had one sister, Bertha Frazey, who preceded her in death.
Services for Mrs. Kelley will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
