Mr. Edward "Possum" Christenson, age 84, of Forrest City, Arkansas died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his home. Mr. Christenson was born August 22, 1927 in Wheatley, Arkansas and was the son of Andrew Loarn and Mary Hartz Christenson.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. After returning from the service he married his high school sweetheart, George Ann Allen in 1950, and she preceded him in death in 2006. They moved to Forrest City in 1956 where they were faithful members of the First United Methodist Church of Forrest City for over 50 years.
Mr. Christenson is survived bye a daughter, Ann Claire Vaccaro of Forrest City and husband Victor, son Stephen Edward Christenson of Little Rock and wife Debbra, a brother Loarn "Junior" Christenson of Rondo, Arkansas, three sisters-in-law, Harryette Christenson of Marianna, Sue Holman of Fairbanks, Alaska and Lanell Lashley of Fayetteville, six grandchildren: Jacob Kleier, Adam Kleier, Joshua Kleier, Haley Duffey and husband Jeff, Matthew Vaccaro, and Elizabeth Christenson, one great grandson Bryant Duffey. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Christenson Kleier in 1996.
Visitation for Mr. Christenson will be at Stevens Funeral Home on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1:00p.m. with graveside services to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City

Jan 20,19Mrs. George Ann Allen Christenson, age 76, of Forrest City, Arkansas died Friday, September 8, 2006, in Memphis. Mrs. Christenson was born January 20, 1930, in Marianna, Arkansas. She was the daughter of George H. Allen and Willie Mae 'Bill' Edwards Allen. Mrs. Christenson was an elementary school teacher and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Forrest City. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Musical Coterie and the Junior Auxiliary. Mrs. Christenson married Ed Christenson in 1950. He survives her along with a son, Stephen and wife, Debbra Christenson of Little Rock; a daughter, Ann Claire and husband Victor Vaccaro of Forrest City; two sisters, Nell and husband, David Lashley of Fayetteville and Sue and husband, Ken Holman of Fairbanks, Alaska; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Joann Christenson of Little Rock, Haley Victoria Vaccaro of Knoxville, Matthew Allen Vaccaro of Forrest City, Jacob Kleier of Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Christenson Kleier and a sister Shirley Johnson. Services were held Monday, September 11, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Forrest City. Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery.
