John F. Knox, age 92, of Forrest City, AR died Friday, March 3, 2006 at his home in Forrest City.Mr. Knox was born April 21, 1913, in Relfs Bluff, AR. He was the son of John Elvie Knox and Mary Lyle Knox. Mr. Knox graduated from the University of Arkansas with honors in June of 1940 and was a member of the Alpha Zeta Fraternity. He served in the United States Army from 1942-1945, participated in the Invasion of North Africa, Sicily and Italy and was awarded two Bronze Stars. He returned to work as a County Supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration at Clarendon, then DeValls Bluff, then in 1950 in Forrest City. Mr. Knox retired in 1974. After retirement he worked with Forrest City Production Credit Association for 8 years. In 1988 he retired from the PCA to visit his family and work in his flower gardens. Mr. Knox was a member of the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church since 1950 and served as a Deacon and Elder for many years.Mr. Knox married Evelyn Sharp in 1950. She survives him along with two sons, John F. Knox Jr. of Haughton, LA and David L. Knox of Bartlett, TN. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Scott Vanhook and wife Heather, John F. Knox III, Sara Jane Knox, David A. Knox and Mary Katherine Knox; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer Vanhook, Jessica Vanhook and Zachary Vanhook; his loyal caregivers, Edward Harris and Dicie; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.Services were held at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, Monday, March 6, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family would like to thank the Forrest City EMT's, Dr. George Conner and Staff and Dr. Bruce Wilson. Under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evelyn Sharp Knox age 96, of Forrest City, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 24, 2013 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Knox was born May 9, 1917 in Glenmora, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Henry Sharp and Gertrude Hancock Sharp. Mrs. Knox was a member of the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Women of the Church Group and Women's Circle.
Mrs. Knox married John Frank Knox in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by two sons, John F. Knox Jr. and wife Doris of Haughton, Louisiana and David L. Knox and wife Sharon of Hernando; a brother Mandel Sharp of Devalls Bluff; four grandchildren, John F. Knox III and wife Dani, Sara J. Taylor and husband Jayme, David A. Knox and Mary K. Knox; three step grandchildren, Scott Vanhook and Tara and Duncan Gross. A host of nieces and nephews also survive her.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2:00 at Forrest Park Cemetery
