Dr. Elbert Bryan Duke Jr., age 67, of Forrest City, Arkansas died Monday, June 12, 2006 at his home. Dr. Duke was born April 16, 1939, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was the son of Louise and Elbert Bryan Duke Sr. He was a native of Brinkley, Arkansas and graduated from Brinkley High School. He also was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia, and the University of Tennessee Dental School in Memphis. Dr. Duke lived in Forrest City and practiced dentistry there from 1963 until his retirement in 2005.Dr. Duke is survived by his wife, Fran Fowler Duke of Forrest City; three sons, Randy and Mary Duke of Dallas, Jay Duke of New Orleans and B. Scott and Emily Duke of Memphis. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Gunnar and Piper Duke of Dallas and Rylie Duke of Memphis. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Duke of Brinkley. Dr. Duke was an elder of Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, past president of the Forrest City Country Club, past president of the Forrest City Rotary Club,. East Arkansas Community College Trustee and past president of the Forrest City Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid golfer and Razorback fan and served as a president of the Razorback Club. Services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m., burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church or to St. Francis County Humane Society. Under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
