Alvin Wayne "Ab" Hall of Marianna passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at age 86. Ab was born on April 1, 1925 in Gill, Arkansas to Benjamin L. and Mary Ethel Diamond Hall.
He and Jonnie Belle Spence were married on December. 23, 1946; and made their home in Marianna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jonnie Spence Hall, and son Rick Hall.
He is survived by son David Hall and wife Ellen of Harrison, AR; daughter Nancy Adams and husband Wes of Sherwood, AR; grandchildren Abbye Wages, Jamie Foust, Wesley Hale Adams, Christen Hall, Chad Hall, Kellen Nissen; great-grandchildren Halle Foust, and Annalee Foust; daughter-in-law Linda Hall; many nieces and nephews; and many friends
Ab was a member of the Marianna Fire Department for over 40 years. He was Chief and Assistant Chief for about 10 years; and retired in 1990.
He worked for Mixon Brothers & Webb John Deere for 44 years as parts manager, retiring in 1990. For over 20 years he coached and umpired Little League Baseball.
Ab shared his love of fishing, hunting, and gardening with all. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Services will be held at10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5th, graveside at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City.
