BELLA VISTA — Richard Henry Schowalter, 89, of Bella Vista died Sept. 23, 2004, at Bentonville Manor. He was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Wichita, Kan., to Henry Peter and Isabelle Knott Schowalter. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He attended Wichita University and was a member of Albert Pike Masonic Lodge AF&AM in Wichita. He retired after 42 years of employment from Beech Aircraft. He moved to Bella Vista in 1983 from Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church and was former president of the Kansas City Club in Bella Vista. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Schowalter. He married Grace Heldenbrand, on Dec. 23, 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Schowalter of Bentonville; one son, Dick Schowalter of Rogers; one daughter, Anita Kern of Palatine, Ill.; five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bella Vista Community Church.

Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, 72714.
