Funeral services for Homer P. Ellis, 75, who died Saturday morning at Forrest Memorial Hospital, were held at Stevens Funeral Home today. Services were conducted by Rev. Byron McSpadden, with burial in Forrest Park cemetery. Mr. Ellis was born in the Hamblin Community, Cross County, On Feb.1,1893, the son of Mrs. Mary Jane Davis Ellis and Jim Ellis. He lived in Palestine before moving here in 1922, and resided at 618 E. Cross Ave. at the time of his death. A member of the First Methodist Church, he was a veteran of World War I and a retired merchant. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amy D. Ellis, whom he married in 1920; a daughter, Mrs. Charles S.F Ancher of Memphis; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
