Earnest “Pop” Hardy, 77, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 at his home. Mr. Hardy was born February 24, 1932 in Hancock, Arkansas to the late Virgil Hardy and the late Eunice Archer Hardy.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Bunn Hardy of Elaine; one son, Larry Van Hardy and wife, Debbie, of West Helena; one daughter, Karen Janelle Hardesty and husband, Shawn, of Elaine; six grandchildren, Jamie Allbritton, Mollie Manning, Matthew Hardesty, Chad Hardesty, Darrin Hardesty and Patrick Hardy; four great-grandchildren, Keragan Hardesty, Jozef James, Morgan Hardesty and Levi Manning; a half-sister, Betty Joyce Eubanks of Michigan; and two brothers, Virgil “Pete” Hardy of Lexa, Arkansas and Charles Hardy of Paris, Texas.

Services for Earnest Hardy will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2009 at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Brother Danny Weatherford will officiate.

Pallbearers are grandsons: Matthew Hardesty, Chad Hardesty, Darrin Hardesty and Patrick Hardy. Also serving as pallbearers are Matt Manning and Brad Allbritton. Honorary pallbearers are James Guest, Sr., Jerry Johnston, Jerry Caery, Sr., Gene Rowland and Joey Hopper.
