Dr. James E Wise, 77, of Marvell, moved to Heaven on Thursday June 24. He served his community as a General Practitioner for 35 years and as an Emergency Room physician until 2007. He is survived by Shirley, his wife of 54 years; daughter, Pamela Sharp and Jeff; sons. Jim Wise and Lisa, Bobby Wise and Kim; grandchildren, Chuck & Tabitha Turner, Caleb Turner, Dr. Ashley & Bobby Mitchell, Lauren & David Baxter, Christen & Kyle Sanders, David Wise, Megan Wise, and Aubrey Wise; 4 great-grandchildren, Dylan Turner, Morgan Turner, Regan Turner, and Corwyn Mitchell; brother-in-law, Rufus Stainback; niece, Susan Hooper and David; nephews, Putnam Stainback, and James Stainback and Stephanie; great-niece, Emily Stainback. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edwin Wise, Sr. and Jesse Godwin Wise and a sister, Peggy Stainback.
Pallbearers will be Bill McCartney, John Stiedle, Jim McRee, Carlos Crisp, Jim Ed “Catfish” Gray, and Chuck Turner.
Honorary Pallbearers will be A.B. Thompson and Robin Clatworthy.
Services will be held at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home at 350 Highway 49, Marvell, AR - visitation on Friday June 25 from 6-8 pm and funeral on Saturday at 10 am. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena immediately following the service. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home (address above) or memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, PO Box 838, Marvell, AR 72366.
