BROWN, Laura GOULD - Died, June 29th, 1891 at her home near Rogers, Ark., Mrs. Laura Brown, daughter of W.E. and Lizzie Gould. Mrs. Brown was born October 15th, 1868 near Rogers, Ark. where she lived happily under the roof that covered her infant cries and sheltered her childhood years. When very young she professed religion and was received into the communion of the C.P. Church at Rogers, Ark. She was married to Mr. James Brown Jan. 8th, 1891 by whose husbandly provision and loving and fostering care she was made happy and contented, and their home bright and cheerful until death came and took away the light and hope and comfort of that home. It was the writer's privilege in the line of his ministerial duties to baptize the deceased in her infancy, to receive her into the communion of the church, to solemnize the rites of matrimony at her wedding and it was also his painful duty to conduct her funeral services. The deceased was a devoted christian and the whole community must feel deeply the loss of such a young and useful life. May the Great Comforter comfort the tender loving hearts and wounded spirits who sorrow under this bereavement. P. Carnahan.
