Margery Hale was born January 13, 1932 in Griffin, Georgia. When she was young, Marge moved to the family plantation in Burdette, Ark. She graduated from Blytheville High School in 1950 and then attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans. Later, she transferred to the University of Arkansas where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi and served as historian. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a specialty in agriculture. Marge was a true Razorback fan and watched Hog sports of every kind. She returned to Burdette after graduation and began farming and spent many years helping to manage Hale Seed Farms. Marge was active in civic and community affairs in Burdette and in Mississippi County, including the Cotton Wives program and the Nurse/Midwife program. She was a member of the Blytheville Country Club Board of Directors.

Marge was an avid golfer and won too many tournaments to be counted. She had a strong influence on the many young golfers and highly maintained the ethics, etiquette of rules and regulations of golf. She was a member of the United States Golf Association and Arkansas Women's Golf Association and one of the highlights of her golfing life was attending the Masters Tournament.

Marge had many interests including traveling and a love of all living and growing things. She was intrigued by puzzles of any kind and spent hours with a pen and a crossword.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Albert Hale Sr. and Sara Tompkins Hale, of Burdette, Ark.

She leaves a sister, Ruth Hale; a brother, George Albert Hale Jr. and his wife Patti; niece, Charlee Hale Predmore and Dickie McClendon, all of Burdette; nephew, George A. "Trey" Hale III and his wife Stephanie; five great nieces and nephews, Sara Allison Predmore and JT Goff, Kathryn Hale Predmore, Christopher Predmore and Candace Dean, George Albert "Bo" Hale and Kate Stevenson Hale; great-great nieces and nephew, as well were very much a love of her life, Leah Jett Goff, Layla Lynn Huffman, and Braxton Hale Predmore.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Blytheville, Ark. with Dr. Robin Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church at 1 p.m. until time for service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Humane Society of Blytheville or the Pi Beta Phi Sorority Foundation 1154 Town & Country Commons Drive, Town & Country, Mo. 63017.
