Guadalupe Tovar, 92, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012. A wake service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N, 12th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert Bush officiating. Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday in Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Mrs. Tovar was born December 11, 1919, in McAllen Texas, to the late Ramon and Anastacio Paz. She had lived in Abilene since 1994, moving here from Arkansas.
Survivors include two daughters, Sophia Navarro and husband, Andres and Evanjelina Torres and husband, Jose Antonio; grandchildren, Mike Tovar, Jose Torres Joe Torres, Maria Torres, M’Linda Lemons, Maria Vasquez, Monica Torres, Andres Navarro Jr., Maria Reyes, Rafeal Navarro, Alejandro Navarro, Esmeralda Lopez, Oscar Navarro, Oralia Navarro and Serjio Navarro; and many great grandchildren.
Mrs. Tovar was preceded in death by her husband, Benito Tovar; a son, and a sister, Paula Guerra.
