J. Brendan Losurdo, age 31, of Clarkridge, Arkansas died Friday, August 7, 2009 at his home.
He was born on November 28, 1977 in Suffern, New York, the son of Gilbert and Joanne Losurdo. He was a 1996 graduate of Mountain Home High School and an active member of their 4-H and FFA chapters. In 2000 he graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in animal livestock production and hotel & restaurant management.
Brendan was a cattle rancher, member of the American Angus Association, and served as a board member of Baxter County Farm Bureau. He expanded his talents into the restaurant industry and was the owner chef of Farview's Grill, Fireside BBQ & Grill, and Brent's BBQ, all in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was an award winning chef and served on the board of the Arkansas Hospitality Association.
Brendan loved the Ozarks, his community, and its people. In 2006 he was recognized by the Arkansas Hospitality Association as the recipient of their community service award.
Brendan is survived by his wife Sarah and his two children Bryce and Tessa of the home, his parents, Gilbert and Joanne Losurdo of Gassville, Arkansas, his brother Brian of Clarkridge, Arkansas, his uncles Bruce (Louise) Losurdo of Florida, Richard (Thirza) Berardo and Craig (Rosemary) Berardo all of New York, and a large extended family.
Visitation will be at Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas, on Sunday, August 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m. A celebration of Brendan's life with Holy Eucharist will be at 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas, on Monday, August 17. Interment will follow at Bentley Ridge Cemetery in Clarkridge, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mountain Home Educational Foundation, 2465 Rodeo Drive, Mountain Home, Arkansas 72653.
