Mrs. Willie D. (Bowling, Brown) Moore, 84, left this world Sunday, February 2, 2014. She was born and raised in the Culpepper Mountain Community near Clinton, Arkansas. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Willie retired from Southwestern Bell (AT&T) after 30 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Brown and W.R. Moore, her beloved son Mark Brown, her parents William Fred and Dovie (Nicholson) Bowling, five brothers and two sisters.
Willie is survived by her loving daughter Leasa (Carl) Herndon of Heber Springs, Arkansas, three grandsons, John Herndon (Jenny) of Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy Brown (Torie) of Portland, Oregon and Matthew Brown of Cabot, Arkansas. She also has three great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and friends.
She enjoyed caring for other people and especially her family and sharing memories of by-gone days. She is the last surviving child of Fred and Dovie Bowling. Her bond with our family will be so greatly missed.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Arkansas Hospice for all their care and support.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Culpepper Church of Christ in Clinton, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the church following the visitation with Bro. Ed Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Culpepper Community Cemetery.
