Husband of Lila Iva Barker Byrd
Walter Clarence "Chub" Byrd, 92, of Mayfield, Arkansas, died May 19, 2011 at his home. He was born June 1, 1918 at Langley, Arkansas, the son of Jesse and Lubirdie Clayton Byrd. He was a retired carpenter, a Christian and a member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
Survivors include: his wife, Lila Iva Barker Byrd of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Lanny and Sharon Byrd of Japton, Arkansas; two daughters, Anna Jordon and Zelda Byrd, both of Mayfield, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P. M. Friday, May 20, at the Buckeye Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Ricky E. Nodine, Nicky Nodine, Alex Nodine, Ricky D. Nodine, Jason Moppin and Kevin Wade.
