Clifton V. “Pete” White, 62, of Knoxville, Arkansas, formerly of Locust Grove, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 in Clarksville.

He was born in Harrison, Arkansas on July 17, 1951 to Clifton Vernon White and Mildred Ethel (Parker) White. He graduated from Southside High School in 1969 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was a pipefitter working at Nuclear Power Plants all over the southern United States. He was an active member of the Brothers of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #155 in Little Rock.

An avid yearlong fisherman, he was particularly an expert in Crappie Angling. He was also a talented and creative builder who built all the homes that he and his family lived in. He was known among his peers for having a strong work ethic. His hobbies included anything in the outdoors, such as hiking, camping, gardening, playing horseshoes, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. But his true passion was being with his wife and children. His greatest joy was being ‘poppa’ to his granddaughters.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Rebecca (Bone) White of Knoxville; daughters: Charity White Wycough and her husband, Jeremy of Batesville and Katie White McKinney and her husband, Shawn of Evening Shade; grandchildren: Shelby Wycough and Charlotte Wycough both of Batesville, and Ruby McKinney of Evening Shade; sisters: Connie Landwehr of Wichita, KS, Nancy Sandy Hayman of Haysville, KS, and Ellen Shaver of Batesville; his mother-in-law, Charity Bone of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Shawn McKinney, Jeremy Wycough, Wesley Shaver, Clayton shaver, Kirk Payne, Tim Chessar, and Butch Cretsinger. Honorary pallbearers are Brothers of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #155 in Little Rock.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville with Ed Shaver leading the service.

There is no visitation.

Burial will be at Alderbrook Cemetery in Desha under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G Street, Suite 700, Washington, D.C.
