Jackie R. Wyatt Sr., 78, of Batesville, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at White River Medical Center.
He was born at Desha on March 16, 1935 to Sam and Clara (Kelley) Wyatt.
He was a machinist for Metal Goods, Inc., a division of Alcan Aluminum, for 38 years in St. Louis, MO. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, camping and hunting. He also enjoyed tending to his garden and spending time with his family. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Thelma (Harmon) Wyatt of the home; two sons: J. R. Wyatt formerly of Batesville, and David R. Wyatt of Mishawaka, IN; eight grandchildren; two brothers: Wayne Wyatt and Bobby Wyatt both of Batesville, AR; one sister, Dorthea Sheffield also of Batesville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Winfred Dean Wyatt; and one sister, Winona Jones.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Alderbrook Cemetery with Steve Smith officiating and under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
There will not be a visitation.
