Kathryn Jane Hastings, 80, of Judsonia, was born May 6, 1932 in Judsonia to Henry and Lucye Hubach. She passed away February 22, 2013 in Rogers, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Hastings; brothers: Edwin Morgan Hubach, Henry Harry Hubach, Jr.; sisters: Marye Wood, Martha McPhail, Lou Joyner, and infant twins.
Together with her husband, she owned and operated a small cattle farm until the mid 1990's. She also worked as a teacher's aide at Judsonia School. Mrs. Hastings was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Judsonia. She especially enjoyed growing roses and working in her garden.
She is survived by her son, David Hastings and wife Sandy of Bentonville, grandchildren Luke, Nathan, Seth, Andrew, Sarah, and Stephen Hastings, all of Bentonville, and numerous nieces and nephews, including Martha Tindell of Searcy, who provided much care and support, especially during her recent illnesses.
Pallbearers will be Eric Roach, Robin Roach, Ricky Hastings, Matthew Mandrell, and Clint Singer. Honorary pallbearers are Leon Price and Wayne Bolding.
The family wishes to thank Mary Lee Duncan, Judy Vandiver, and Helen Gower for their continuing care and compassion during the past several years.
Memorial services will be held Monday, February 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob, with Rev. Carey Trickey and Rev. Keith Tomlinson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net
