GILLETTE, Wyo. — Wanda Evelyn Hummel died Sept. 1, 2008, at Pioneer Manor in Gillette. She was born April 11, 1921, in Pond Creek, Ill., to Charles and Lena Ewing.
She was an honor student in school and a member of the French Club. She was a former resident of Rogers. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge and Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers. She enjoyed playing golf and bingo, pinochle and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion B. Hummel and daughter, Marion Kay Hummel.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Zahn of Moorcroft and Peggy Jaeger and husband Doug of Gillette; three grandchildren, Tammy Stimpson, Kristi and Scott Proffitt and Greg and Lacey Zahn; five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Donavon Voigt will officiate. Burial will be later in Rogers Cemetery.
