James Henry Morris, 62, of Mayfield died June 9 at his home. He was born Jan. 25, 1927 in Mayfield (Whitener) the son of Bruce and Clem HASH Morris. He was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dortha JONES Morris of the home; one son, Ronnie Morris of Mayfied; two daughters, Sharon McPherson of Fayetteville and Sandra Ownbey of Springdale; his mother, Clem Morris of Mayfield; two brothers, Oscar Morris and Chester Morris, both of Mayield; one sister, Nadine Edmondson of Mayfield; four grandchidren.
Services wil be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Buckeye Baptist Church with Rev. Earl D. Morris officiating. Burial will be in Buckeye Cemetery under direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Hunstvillle.
Pallbearers will be Harold McDuffie, Kenneth Christman, Goldman Barron, Lawrence Ferguson, Darrell Tisdale, and Lawrence Sharp.

Mrs. Dortha Fay Morris, 59, of Mayfield, Ark., died Oct 8, 1991, at her home. She was born 0ct. 23, 1931, at Huntsville, the daughter of Fred Troy and Nola Alice PHILLIPS Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Colbaugh Freewill Baptist Church. She was the widow of James Henry Morris, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1989.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Morris of Mayfield; two daughters, Mrs. Sharon McPherson of Fayetteville and Mrs. Sandra Ownbey of Springdale; her mother, Mrs. Nola Jones of Huntsvillle; one brother, Harold Jone of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Alta Mae Turner and Mrs. Norma Kay Ramsey, both of Huntsville; five grandchildrem, Cody and Cory McPheron, both of Fayetteville, Jay and Samuel Ownbey, both of Springdale, and Allison Morris of Mayfield.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Dean Morris officiating. Interment was in the Buckeye Cemetery under the direcion of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbears were Van Thompson, Clyde Calvin, Ira Rains, James Vanderpool, Kenny Christman, and Harold McDuffie.
