Ethna Elvis Phillips Buchanan, 85, of Huntsville died Feb. 5, 2003, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born June 9, 1917, in Huntsville to William Monroe and Lillie Iona Bennett Litterell. She retired from the Huntsville school system food service after 18 years of employment and was a lifelong member of Peace Valley Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and a volunteer at the Huntsville Senior Activity Center. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse Lee Phillips and Lawton Buchanan.
Survivors include four sons, Dale Phillips and wife Linda, Darrell Phillips and wife Alma and Gary Phillips and wife Judy, all of Huntsville, and Roger Phillips and wife Deedy of Hindsville; three daughters, Marie Fitch and husband Frankie of Hindsville, Glenda Lee and husband Thomas of Springdale; one brother, Ellery Litterell of Bakersfield, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with C.J. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Buckeye Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Phillips, Darren Phillips, Phillip Lee, Trey Fitch, Jared Phillips, Aaron Pittman and Dion Litterell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Donnohue, Max Donnohue, Troy Litterell, John Carl Westlin, Billy Litterell and Junior Litterell.
