IVY, William David - Last Friday evening, while relatives and friends were at the bedside, William David Ivy passed quietly away. For some time he had been failing in health and had sold his place of business in order to try to get a much needed rest. Mr. Ivy was born April 15, 1853 at Forsythe, Mo. He was the son of Benjamin F. and Minerva J. Ivy. On July 4, 1880 he was married to Martha P. Wilburn. In Missouri and Arkansas, near the site of his birthplace, Mr. and Mrs. Ivy lived 27 years. In 1907 they moved to Fayetteville where Mr. Ivy became engaged in the merchandise business. After a business career of 13 years there he moved his family to Bentonville where he spent his remaining years engaged in the same business. Mr. Ivy was 78 years of age. He was the father of eight children, all of whom are still living, grandfather of 32 children and the great grandfather of six children. He was a great lover of home and family and was dissatisfied with any phase of life short of constant toil for their comforts. He was the first in a family of ten to answer the summons which comes to all mortal man.
