Leon Egbert Westerman was born to Orvil Edward and Ollie Ruthie Bell Thacker on March 30, 1933 in Enders, Arkansas and entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family on July 9, 2011 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Mr. Westerman was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Heber Springs. Mr. Westerman was a retired heavy machinery operator and a member of IUOE Local #382. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents, his former wife Marie Davis Westerman, a brother Leo Westerman, a sister Ann Knox and a son-in-law Jarvis Ollis. He is survived by his wife Pat Westerman of Heber Springs, two daughters LeDonna Gilmer and husband Dennis, Rita Hill and husband Chris all of Heber Springs, three granddaughters Jessica Sansoucie and husband Brian of Letona, Courtney Hill of Heber Springs, Christiana Hill of Jonesboro, three nephews Larry Knox of El Paso, Johnny Knox of Beebe, Donald Westerman of Pangburn, three nieces Vickie Fowlkes of Beebe, Marilyn Guthrie of Michigan, Sherry Gaither of Indiana, other relatives and many friends. Honorary Pallbearers were Paul Cooper, Thurman Clark, Tommy Roth, Lloyd Miller, and Charles Davis. Pallbearers were Johnny Ray Knox, Stephen Fowlkes, Herbert Roth, Dwain Gay, Michael Knox, Willard Phillips, and Jordan Newton. A visitation was held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Family Funeral Service, 100 West Searcy Street, Heber Springs, AR from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday July 12, 2011 in the Family Funeral Service Chapel at 10:00 AM by Bro. John Cates, Bro. Eddie Meharg, Bro. Lee Brown and Bro. Jim Patchell. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia, AR at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Arkansas Hospice or your favorite charity
