Gerald Howard Martin, 93 of Searcy, Arkansas, formerly of Hamburg, Arkansas and Crossett, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, July 8, 2011. He was born July 18, 1917 in Ashley County, Arkansas to the late Thomas Zealy and Della Mae Chadwick Martin.

Mr. Martin served in the United States Army during World War II; was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Hamburg, Arkansas; former member of Temple Baptist Church in Searcy, Arkansas; and worked as a salesman for the poultry industry. He is preceded in death by three wives, Eva Jean Riley Martin; Nathalee Bozeman Martin; Maxine White Martin; one son, Phillip Howard Martin.

Survivors include daughter and son-in law, Rebecca and John Brookshire of Shanghai, China; stepson, Cecil White of El Dorado; stepdaughter, Linda Hickman of Hamburg; sister, Marguerite Smith of Little Rock; daughter-in-law, Sheila Martin Jarvis of Alabama; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy with services to follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Judsonia. Memorials may be made to Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 400 Washington Street, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to Temple Baptist Church, 700 W. Moore Ave, Searcy, AR 72143.
