BELLA VISTA -- James H. Ashmore, 78, of Bella Vista died Feb. 13, 2008, at Highlands Health Care in Bella Vista. He was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Correctionville, Iowa, to Howard and Edna Ashmore.
He was an American Legion Boys State honors recipient, an Air Force veteran, and a retired engineering manager from Northwestern Bell Telephone Co.
He moved to Bella Vista in 1983. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was a member of the United Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Irolene Krumm Ashmore of Bella Vista; one son, Dave Ashmore and wife Beth of Alpharetta, Ga.; two daughters, Marsha Williams and husband Charles of Fayetteville and Karen Botkin and husband Bill of Indianola, Iowa; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Betty Hunwardsen of Correstionville; one brother, Craig Ashmore of Storm Lake, Iowa.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista.
