Mrs. Mable J. Patterson, 82, of Elliott, died in a local hospital Friday. Funeral services were held in the Elliott Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial was in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery under the direction of Camden Funeral Service. Mrs. Patterson was born at Mt. Holly but lived in Elliott most of her life. She was the widow of D. W. Patterson, Sr. who was a leader in the Elliott Community. Mrs. Patterson is survived by one son, D. W. Patterson, Jr. of Elliott; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Lewis of Mt. Holly, Mrs. Stella Whaley of Elliott and Mrs. Eva Porterfield of El Dorado; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. (Camden News - September 26, 1977)
