Dr. George Chambers, 89, died in an El Dorado Nursing Home Sunday 10:30 a.m. after a brief illness. Dr. Chambers was a Veterinarian, a government inspector for the Campbell Soup Co. He founded the first Baptist Church in Sacramento, Calif., and was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church of Camden. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Mae Chambers of El Dorado; two sons, Charles S. Chambers of Camden, Ralph Chambers of Woodland, Calif; three daughters, Mrs. Ducile Ohlsen of EL Dorado, Mrs. Charles Hopkins of El Paso, Tex., Mrs. Ming Rose of Citrus Height, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Harris of Rising City, Neb. and Mrs. Cora Schultz of Julesburg, Colo; Nine grand Children and two great grandchildren. Young's Funeral Home of El Dorado is in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - April 8, 1968)
