October 19,1922-November 2,1987
Lawrence Ray Porter, 65, of Route 5, Box 133, Springdale, Ark., died Nov. 2, 1987, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born Oct. 19, 2922, at Boston, Ark., the son of Beecher and Tressie Lane Porter. He was a construction worker and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include six sons, Larry Porter of Edmonton, Wash., Douglas Porter, Raymond Porter, David Porter, Ronnie Porter and Donald Porter, all of California; his mother, Mrs. Tressie Porter of Springdale; five brothers, Layton Porter and Beecher Lee Porter, both of Witter, Lloyd Porter of Riverside, Calif., Leslie Porter of La Habra, Calif., and Leon Porter of Diamond Bar, Calif.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Layton Porter and the Rev. Glenn Barnes officiating. Interment will be in Cove Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Johnie Smith, Scott Marrs, David Porter, Sam Porter, Ed Porter and Dale Porter.
