Husband of Melba Modell Flowers Gibson
Billy Joe Gibson Sr., 81, of Pettigrew died Sept. 5, 2011, at his home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Springer, Okla., to Bryan and Myrtle Patton Gibson.
He was a retired logger and farmer and loved to sing and play guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Modell Flowers Gibson; three sons, Joe Gibson and wife Netta of Bella Vista, Ron Gibson and wife Eva of Pettigrew, James Gibson and wife Lynn of Fayetteville; three daughters, Sue Parks and husband John of Claremore, Okla., Lynn Williams and husband Gary of Delaney and Barbara Lacy and husband Ray of Elkins; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Full Gospel Church. Burial will be in the Cove Cemetery.
