Thelma Lee Turner, 59, of Springdale, died Saturday, May 1, at Springdale Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 6, 1933, at Fayetteville to George H. Gibson and Oved Bell Smith Gibson, she was a retired school teacher. She was a member of Thomas Lakeview Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, the Rev. Edward Wiley Turner; a son, Timothy Turner of Springdale; a daughter, Tammy Farriester of Springdale; three brothers, Harvey, Earl and Don Gibson, all of Fayetteville; a sister, Juanita Nakai of Woodland, Ga.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Monday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, with the Rev. Homer Albright officiating. Burial is to be in Sonora Cemetery. Visitation is set for 2-5 p.m. today.
