Garland (Pete) Boaze, age 79, of Alpena, AR entered eternal life Oct. 24, 2013. He was born Jan. 6, 1934 in Danville, VA the son of James and Gladys (Lewis) Boaze.
On Apr. 24, 1983 he was united in marriage with Marcia (DeVink) Boaze. Pete was employed as a truck driver for 35 years. Over 27 years ago he moved from California to the Rudd Community and bought a farm. He was also employed at Tysons in Berryville for a number of years.
When Pete wasn't working he enjoyed camping and riding his motorcycle. He and Marcia especially enjoyed their time motorcycling with friends. His smile and warm hugs were generously shared with all around him. He was of the Baptist faith.
Pete is survived by his wife, Marcia Boaze of the home; children, Rita, Mark, Jeff and Jerry of the Sacramento, CA area; one sister, Mildred of Northridge, CA; seven grandchildren and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys Boaze and two brothers, James and Harold Boaze.
Celebration of Life services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, 2013 at Gobbler Cemetery with Brother Tom Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Gobbler Cemetery. Services by Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
