Scott Marrs, Jr., 70, of 20047 Fawn Road, Springdale, died 21 Jun 2000 at the Rochier Heights Nursing Center at Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born October 28, 1929 at Boston, Arkansas, the son of Scott C. and Myrtle Ivy Porter Marrs.
He was retired from Jones Truck Lines and a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church at Springdale, where be served as a deacon for thirty-six years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Marine Corps, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2352 at Combs, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1994 and by one son Scott Marrs, Jr., 70, of 20047 Fawn Road, Springdale, Arkansas died June 21, 2000 at Rochier , Darrell Glenn Marrs in 1999.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Ermadean Watson Marrs of the home; one son and two daughters-in-law, Andy and Diane Marrs of Springdale, Arkansas and Mrs. Donna Marrs of Springdale, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in- law, Fern and Randy Villines of Springdale, Arkansas; his father, Mr. Scott C. Marrs, St. of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother, Glayton Marrs of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Leveda Bolick and Mrs. Lavern Gardner, both of Springdale, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Nathan Sharp, Justin Marrs, Riley Marrs, Devin Marrs, Hollye Marrs, Tracee Marrs, Drew Marrs, Dylan Marrs, and Kallie Huffmaster
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24th in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Layton Porter and .Rev. Loy Counts officiating, and his first pastor, Rev. C.R. Fassio, as Honorary minister. Interment was in the Cove Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home at Huntsville. Pallbearers were Elmer Martin, Bill Harrison, John Reynolds, Jack Watkins, Noel Self, Phillip Bowen, Larry McGlocklin, Floyd Collins, and Presley Thomas.
