ALFRED SMITH OF CENTERTON DIED SUDDENLY

Samuel Alfred Smith born and reared in Benton County died suddenly Sunday within a few miles from where he was born 62 yeas ago. Death was due to heart failure, a disease which had been fatal to his father and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon the Centerton M. E. Church with the Rev. F.A. Bradshaw, pastor of the Vaughn Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial was made in the Centerton cemetery. Masonic services were conducted by Roy Giger, Worshipful Master of the Centerton Lodge.

Here he grew to manhood and married a neighbor’s daughter, Miss Ella Clement. Later they moved to the present family home just west of Centerton. Mrs. Smith died about three years ago. Since her death, Mr. Smith and his unmarried son, Lando, have lived there alone.
