Margaret “Sue” Hankins, 70, of Blue springs, MO passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at her home. She was born February 21, 1944 in Calico Rock, AR to Henry and Gussie (Powell) Marchant. As a child she lived at the local phone office in Calico Rock where her mother was the switch board operator. On March 27, 1961 Sue was united in marriage to William A. Hankins and he survives of the home. She was a retired sales associate at the Jones Store Co. at Independence Center. She was a member and attended both Heartland Church of Blue Springs and First Baptist Church of Calico Rock. Sue enjoyed watching wildlife and loved spending time with grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Martha Marchant; and sister-in-law, Ann Webster.
In addition to her husband Bill, She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Phillips and husband Mark of Friendwood, TX, and Michelle Miller and husband Kevin of Lake Tapawingo, MO; brother, Paul Marchant and wife Carol of Eagle Rock, AK; grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Jessika Miller, Sarah Miller, Alexandria Duehren, Taylor Duehren; great grandchild, Milani Enriquez.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 3, 2014 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO, 816-229-3276, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be at Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, AR. Memories and condolences for the family may be left at www.meyersfuneralchapel.com.
