Girfus Husky Richmond, 80, of Dyess died February 18, 2002 at St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born on Jan. 23, 1922 in Driftwood, Richmond was a long time resident of Dyess and a Baptist.
Richmond is preceded in death by his parents, Hosey and Iva Husky Richmond; two sons, Girfus Gary Richmond and Randy Faron Richmond; and one granddaughter, Dessie Irene Richmond. Survivors include wife Irene Elizabeth Richmond of Monette; two daughters, Melissa Bennett of Strawberry and Ivo Dametra Helms of Wilson; four sons, Reggie Richmond of Keiser, Ronald Dwayne Richmond of Etowah, Lonny Dwight Richmond of Willford, and Rev. Lynsol Blain Richmond of Dyersberg, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Feb. 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel, followed by internment at Potter Memorial Cemetery, Rev. Lynsol Richmond officiating.

Irene Elizabeth Richmond, 77 of Dyess died March 1, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola.
She was a Baptist and proceeded in death by her husband Girfus H. Richmond, two sons Randy Faron Richmond and Girfus Gary Richmond, one grand daughter, Dessie Irene Richmond, one sister Myrtle Richmond, one brother Edward Smith and her father and mother, Willie and Davie Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Irene Bennet of Strawberry and Tva Dametra Helms of Wilson; four sons, Reggie Van Richmond of Keiser, Ronald Dwayne Richmond of Etowah, Lanny Dwight Richmond of Wilfiford and Rev. Lansol Blaine Richmond of Dyersburg, Tenn.; three brothers, Delphard Smith of Dyess, Jack Smith and Bud Smith both of Marked Tree; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services conducted by Murphy Funeral Home of Lepanto were Monday, March 4 at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lynsol Blaine Richmond officiating and burial in Potter Memorial Cemetery.
