Billy Gene Puckett, 38 of Panama, OK.,
formerly of Fort Smith, AR., died
Thursday morning in a mine cave-in
near Howe, OK. A former Fort Smith
Police Officer, he was a lifelong
resident of the Fort Smith area and
a member of the Baptist Church on
Dotson Ave. in Fort Smith, AR.
Bill was born November 24, 1930
in Hot Springs, AR., to Jack
and Dora "Pearl" Stem Thompson,
Puckett.
Survivors include his wife, Pat;
three daughters, Vicki Beth (16),
Kimberly Ann (14) and Marla Jo (9);
two sons, Jim Bill (11) and Jay Bob
(5) Puckett, all of the home;
His mother Pearl and step-father,
Herbert Houser; one half-brother,
James Thompson all of Fort Smith,
AR., two sisters; Mrs. Joann Hooper
and husband Tom of Russeville, Mrs.
Carolyn McAnally of Los Angeles, CA.;
three step-brothers, Harold, Walter,
and Eugene Houser, all of Houston,
TX.; and one step-sister, Mrs. Jessie
Batterbee of Houston, TX.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday
at 2:30 P.M. at Edwards Funeral Home.
Officiating Rev. Clifford Palmer
Music "Peace In The Valley"
Burial will be at Measles Cemetery at
Lavaca, AR.
Pallbearers will be Roy Hood, Roy and
Henry Withers, Jack Coleman, Gene Wray
and Jim Smith.
