JONESBORO Henry A. Priest, 77, of Jonesboro died Saturday morning, Nov. 29, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.
He was born at Rector and had lived in Jonesboro since 1965. He was a 1949 graduate of Marmaduke High School and was a retired salesman from Memphis Sash and Door. He loved preaching and woodworking.
Mr. Priest was a veteran of the United States Army, a former chief of Jonesboro Police Reserves and a member of Stone Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Harrilean Priest of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall Priest of Grand Junction, Colo., Thomas and Kim Priest and Charles Priest, all of Jonesboro, and Allen and Rebecca Priest of San Diego; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Stan Bryant of Paragould; grandsons, Bobby Payne, Jason Payne, Luke Priest, Gabriel Priest and Stephen Priest; and great-grandsons, Dalton Payne and Christopher Payne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. and Sarah Myrtle Rogers Priest; a daughter, Rhonda Moore; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dwight Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery at Lepanto. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Harris Townsley, Jerry Bishop, Sam Cossey, Phil Culleson, Jerry Gilbert, David Ledgerwood and Stan Bryant.
Visitation will be from 5-7 tonight in the funeral home.
