James Curtis "Curt" Neal, 79, of Charlotte passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
James was born on September 3, 1925 in Euporia, Mississippi and was the son of Columbus Franklin and Lenton (Pittman) Neal. He was a self-employed blacksmith and welder. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Mae (Barnett) Neal of Charlotte; his son, Joe Neal of Batesville; three daughters – Delida Neal and Gwen Gillmore both of Batesville and Shelia Taylor-King of Providence, Rhode Island. He is also survived by his brother, Prise Neal of Parks, Arkansas. Other survivors are his grandchildren, Chad Gillmore, Brady Gillmore, Matthew Taylor, Abby Taylor, Clay Neal, Clark Neal, Jeremy Carlton and Heather Carlton; and his great-grandchildren, Colton Gillmore, Landon Gillmore, Logan Gillmore, Chandler Gillmore, Alex Gillmore, Mason Taylor, Drake Taylor, Ashton Barber and Autumn Barber also survive him. His two nephews and two nieces survive him also.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James Curtis Neal, Jr. and Columbus Barnett Neal; one granddaughter, Allison Gillmore and one sister, Grace Lewis.
Pallbearers will be his Grandsons.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM in Potter's Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas with Chuck Borshiem and David Ward officiating.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville and again on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the Lepanto Church of Christ.
Arrangements are by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
