Husband of Lavania Kinion Fritts
Thomas Vernon Fritts, 70, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died May 4, 2009 at his home. He was born June 4, 1938 at Huntsville, Arkansas, the son of Price Gregory and Millicent Auslam Fritts. He received his B.S.E. and M.S.E. in engineering from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and was a member of the engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi. He worked as a corporate engineer for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Oklahoma for the majority of his life until his retirement in 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gregory William Fritts, his stepmother, Golda Miller Fritts, his daughter, Millicent Diane Fritts and his granddaughter, Anna Kristine Scott.
Survivors include: his wife of forty-nine years, Lavania Kinion Fritts of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kristina Ann and Frank Scott and Susan Cherie Kilpatrick, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Aubrey and Lois Kinion of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one grandson, Samuel Thomas Hodiah Scott of Fayetteville, Arkansas and one granddaughter, Chloe Kirin Fritts Kilpatrick of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A. M. Saturday, May 9, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Jim Hall officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Charles Presley, Joe Presley, Kevin Shinn, Charles K. Grubbs, Truman Skaggs, James Ezell, Bob Parson and Joe Stansell. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bruce Parker, Gene Hudgins, Larry Skaggs, Jim Grillot, Ralph Farris, Larry Marable, Frank Scott, III and Aubrey Kinion, Sr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the H. F. Shinn Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Mark Nelson, Arvest Bank, Post Office Box 188, Huntsville, Arkansas 72740-0188. Condolences may be sent to the fmaily at 1861 Trillium Lane, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72704.
