Donald Buford Foltz was born 5 May 1888 in Hunt, Illinois, the son of Sherman and Nora Rue Foltz. He grew up with six brothers: Wyon T.; Tracy T.; Dale P.; Dalton M; Forrest C. and James N. Before entering the military, Donald worked as a Postal Clerk.
Donald was inducted into the Army 28 May 1918 at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana and served in France from 7 September 1918 to 3 June 1919. He was discharged 26 June 1919 at Camp Pike, Arkansas and received the Victory Medal.
Donald returned to Arkansas, married his wife, Alda, and resumed his job as a Postal Clerk.
Donald Buford Foltz died 14 February 1962 and was buried in Union Grove Cemetery in the Center Community west of Wynne, Arkansas.
