Tonya Sue Dunkle, daughter of robert raymond Dunkle and Saundra Cragle Dunkle, was born May 7, 1987, in Danvill, Pennsylvania. She died August 10, 2004 in Calico Rock. She was 17 years old.
She would have been a 2005 graduated of Calico Rock High School. She enjoyed painting, music and poetry.
Dunkle is survived by her mother; saundra Cragle Dunkle of Calico Rock; her father, Robert Raymond Dunkle of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; one brother, Charles Mohr of Calico Rock; paternal grandparents, Robert and Emma Dunkle of Pennsylvania and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Larry and Elsie Cragle.
Visitation is Thursday, August 12, for 6:00 to 8:00PM at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 13, at 10:00AM at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Jess Sumrall officiating. Pallbearers are; Michael Hall, Charles Mohr, Kevin Chitwood, Cody Chitwood, Joshua Jarosz and Jonathan Cagle. Honorary pallbearers are Alyssia Kirby, Ashley Marentette, Marcy Jones, Shawnda Mohr, Robyn Gibson and Sarah Hamby.
Interment will be at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.

Izard County Sheriff's Office and Calico Rock First Responders arrived on the scene of a one vehicle accident 2.7 miles west of Calico Rock on Boswell Road Tuesday, August 10, at 1:44AM. Deputy Rick Kimble responded and discovered a 1991 Pontiac Lamans, driven by Arthur B. Tunnicliff, age 19, of Calico Rock. The car had been traveling east, slid off the road into the westbound lane, coming to rest with the passenger side front door against a tree.
A passenger in the vehicle, Tanya Dunkle, age 17, of Calico Rock was sitting next to the passenger side door and was fatally injured. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Izard County Coroner, Eddie Howard.
Another passenger in the vehicle, Alyssia Kirby, age 18, of Dolph was injured and was taken by Air Evac to Baxter Regional Hospital in Mt. Home. According to a relative, she is in Intensive Care Unit listed in stable condition.
Tunnicliff was transported by AET to the Community Medical Center of Izard County where he was treated and released.
No further information was available at press time, the accident remains under investigation by the Izard County Sheriff's Office.
