BELLA VISTA -- Raphael Robert Roeder, 94, of Bella Vista, Ark., died March 28, 2015, in Bella Vista. He was born Oct. 2, 1920, in Seneca, Kan., to August A. Roeder and Josephine M. Hugo Roeder.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Optimist Club in Lyons, Kan., the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was Post commander in El Dorado, Kan., for VFW.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Roeder to whom he married Jan. 11, 1947, as well as a sister, Roseanna Srite.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews; David Srite, Diana Gulick, Pat Buchta, Mike Srite, and Gwenolyn Schoolgraft.

A committal service will be held on April 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. On-line condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com.

BELLA VISTA — Ann A. Roeder, 88, of Bella Vista died June 27, 2006, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. She was born March 10, 1918, in Kansas City, Mo., to Robert Earl and Margaret Ruth Sumerwell Israel. She grew up and was educated in Kansas City and graduated from Paseo High School. She married Ray Roeder on Jan. 11, 1947. She was a longtime member of the Eastern Star. She moved to Bella Vista in August 1986 from Lyons, Kan. She was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ray R. Roeder of Bella Vista; one brother, L.R. Warren of Seattle.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bella Vista Community Church with the Rev. Richard Lindman officiating. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 969, Rogers, 72257.
